jointer motor

Filed under: wood shop — howarth frank @ 11:48 pm

I have been working on the two motors that I might use for the jointer.  I fired one of them up last night and it ran for about a half second then tripped the circuit breaker. I think I have it wired wrong. Then I tried the dayton motor to night, it had a wiring diagram I could understand, and labels on the different wires. It fired right up and purrs like a kitten.
i took apart the switch on the jointer, it is really neat inside, it says it can be used for a 3 phase motor or a 2 phase motor, is 2 phase the old way of saying single phase. I don’t know but I would like to use the old switch.
