the shop

Filed under: wood shop — howarth frank @ 9:29 pm

here is a current shot of the shop.  from left to right; the big green powermatic planer is running, i finally got a magnetic starter with the correct coil.  i need a sharpener for it now.  i built the infill piece between the two powermatic table saws. i was going to use rollers but realized i need the two “T” slots to be continuous between the two saws. i went with a piece of plywood. i have been working on the stops for the windows to hold the glass in, i have had temporary stops thus far.  i need to do this before i hang the french cleat to hang any more shelving. the lathe stations is set up, i built holders for the chisels.

radial arm saw dust collection

Filed under: wood shop — howarth frank @ 11:19 pm

the radial arm saw dust collection is working. i have a plywood tube running behind the saws.  it draws the air and dust down and away from the cut.  this hides the dust collection and the dust seems to take this path better than going up.  i also made a blast gate which works great but it was time consuming.
