I scored a second batch of wood, this time walnut. A tree had come down about a mile form the shop. I was busy cutting it up to day with the chainsaw. I started turning one piece last night and the wood looks like it is going to be beautiful.

I have been working on a jewelry box for bonnie. I have wanted to do a box joint on something, so here we go. It is coming along good so far.
I have been using an 80 tooth cross cutting blade on the table saw for everything. It gives a nice cut but on some things. Such as ripping a piece of stock, it burns the cut a little. I got a ripping blade this past weekend and what a difference. I ripped down a few pieces for a picture frame and it felt like I was cutting butter with a hot knife.

I bought a bunch of cherry from Urban Hardwoods. I like the idea of what he is doing as a business model. The cherry was ruff sawn and I finally got around to planing a piece of it to day. It is very nice.
